Native American Studies Debate Society!

For some reason on some day, Dr. Jerry Bread had an idea that we needed to find a way to offer to Native American Students the art of debate.  He met with OU Director of Debate, Jackie Massey, and they put together a plan to get a Native American Studies Debate Society started.  This began with recruiting some help from another Oklahoma debate School, University of Central Oklahoma.  Eric Marlow, Scott Ketchum and Andy Casey became involved over the summer to prepare for the debate.  This was a calling for Scotty Ketchum, who then became a larger part of the the Oklahoma Native American Studies Department.

There was a public debate in Tahlequah for the Cherokee Nation.  At Bacone College with their staff and students,  and also at a summer seminar in Phoenix, AZ.

There were also 2 students who entered the UCO CEDA/NDT Tournament and they advanced to elimination rounds and received 1st and 4th Speaker.  David Colbert and Tawna Little!

For those events there are stories.
